I’m home from Ethiopia, so happy to be a new aunt!. The past ten days were exciting and exhausting — I just loved visiting the country of Ethiopia and met so many happy, helpful and generous people. Ethiopia is truly a special place and I’m grateful to now have a happy little Ethiopian-American in my family!
But after 21 hours of travel, it is so good to be home, too.
It will take me a few days to get back up to speed, but I am enjoying reading through the new comments and will be choosing winners for the northern clemency and Houston, We Have a Problema by Monday at the latest.
I am also wading through my Reader and next Friday’s Finds will be chock full, I imagine. One quick heads up — if you have already read Edgar Sawtelle, you may want to check out Oprah’s book club this Monday. Here is a link to register for Oprah’s online book club. If you’re like me and would need a plot refresher first, check out the Edgar Sawtelle online quiz. I won’t be participating because the time (8 p.m.) doesn’t work for me, but I would love to hear impressions from anyone who does!
Lastly, I managed to sample a handful of books on my journey, including Matthiessen’s Shadow Country, Rush’s Will, and Lampiri’s Unaccustomed Earth. I started Le’s The Boat, too. So, look for these upcoming reviews soon! I also loved using my Kindle, so I will be sure to include my impressions of this delightful little device soon.
It’s good to be back!

Good to have you back! Congratulations Auntie!
