Since I was out of town, I missed last week’s Booking Through Thursday, but then found a bunch of great related links this week, so I thought I would do a Booking Through Thursday Rewind
Last week’s question came from Julie, who asked:
While acknowledging that we can’t judge books by their covers, how much does the design of a book affect your reading enjoyment? Hardcover vs. softcover? Trade paperback vs. mass market paperback? Font? Illustrations? Etc.?
Here’s what I found…
From Gather:
Did you know that distributors who market books to the larger bookstores do not take the whole book or even the manuscript with them? They take big briefcases full of just the covers! So the covers, in those cases, actually represent the book! I didn’t know that until I found it out at the Georgia Writer’s Conference this week. But I did know that every industry professional I’ve heard says that covers sell books.

If you are thinking this topic sounds familiar, I asked a similar question last month regarding titles — check it out!
Then, just for fun, here is a meme I found from Lisamm who borrowed it from Softdrink. It’s fun, try it!
