PEN/Faulkner Winner Announced

I happy to announce that Joseph O’Neill’s Netherland won the PEN/Faulkner Award this week. The PEN/Faulkner is “largest peer-juried prize for fiction in the United States” and the winner is awarded $15,000.
Here were the runners up:
- Ms. Hempel Chronicles by Sarah Shun-lien Bynum
- A Person of Interest by Susan Choi
- Lush Life by Richard Price
- Serena by Ron Rash
I recently read and thoroughly enjoyed not only O’Neill’s novel, but also the discussion that ensued in the comments after my recent review of Netherland.
