Recently I published an interview with Marisa de los Santos, author of Love Walked In and Belong to Me, and just loved the comments the post generated.

Now, I have known for a long time just how interesting and engaging my readers are 🙂 but it was delightful to have such a compelling discussion in the comments, too.

First, here’s a selection of thought-provoking insights I just loved…

From Molly:

I thoroughly enjoyed the interview! I love hearing how writers write! She is an author who cares deeply about the things I care about: discovering just the perfect word for the situation and character development. I find it interesting that she “lives” with the character for 6 months before writing the story and she is still surprised by how they act. Fascinating!

From Karina:

I absolutely LOVED Love Walked In and have been wanting to read Belong to Me. It’s funny, because I really hesitated about reading Love Walked In. I thought it was going to be overly analytical, somehow. But I was caught up in the prose and the plot, when I started reading. De los Santos sure has a mastery of the language! This is one of those books where sometimes you just want to reread a line, not because of the meaning per se but because the words are so lovely!

And from G:

I read Love Walked In and was impressed to see that Marisa had started Belong to Me first…that might explain why the characters in Love Walked In seem so well fleshed out. After thoroughly enjoying Love Walked In, I’d be delighted to have an opportunity to read Belong to Me. It seemed like there was so much more to say about the marriage and relationship between Cornelia and Teo; I hope Belong to Me dives more deeply into that. Thanks for the great interview.

By the way, I know some of my readers have their own book blogs, too…  Please leave a comment below with a link to your own blog.  A brief summary would be great, too!

Thank you!
