Recently I was contacted about reviewing a product that promised to bring “Reading comfort to my life!” Of course, I gladly agreed and soon received a Book Buddy reading pillow.
The design involves adjustable ribbons that hold either a paper-back or hard-cover book in place, so that you can read with a book in your lap comfortably, closer than it would be if simply placed directly on your lap. Plus, the ribbons allow for “hands free” reading, too. The pillow also comes with an acrylic board that can be placed under the ribbons, too, in case you want to write or use your lap top on your lap.
The pillow itself is quite lovely. The fabric is a high quality silky brocade — maroon and gold — and would blend with many decors. The ribbons adjust easily and hold books of many sizes securely. I particularly liked using it in bed — I like to read while lying on my side, and propping the pillow made this even more comfortable.

Remember the lap desks that were popular back in the…??? I have a wooden lap desk that has a lid that covers a compartment where you can keep your writing materials, books, etc. I know my parents gave it to me, I just don’t remember when they gave it to me! This is a very good idea, and it’s much softer!! The only time I usually get to read is at the end of the day and I am in bed.
