Book Wish — Reading in Darfur

I was recently contacted about a great site for all us readers who love to share our passion with others:  Holiday.BookWish.org .

The idea is that we count the number of books we received for the holidays (or gave as gifts or read last year?) and then donate one dollar per book.  The money is then used to buy books for refugee camps in Darfur.  The donations go to BookWish.org whose mission is “reading relief for people in crisis.”

Tomorrow I will actually be travelling to Africa to help my sister pick up her new daughter and have been calculating just how many books 21 hours of flight merits… (I’m assuming that I will NOT be reading on the 21 hour flight back with my new 10 month old niece icon smile Book Wish Reading in Darfur ).  So, while I have the luxury of packing as many books as my bag and/or Kindle can hold, I would love to help others escape a bit into reading, too!

Have the BEST trip ever. I’ll be thinking of you. BTW, how IS reading on the Kindle?

Thank you, Anna!! Tomorrow’s flight will be my maiden journey with the Kindle — I’ll be sure to post a full review when I return! :)
