Happy New Year!! I am still in Florida, hopefully reading something light and fluffy on the beach…
Since I was hoping to be off-line over the holidays, I decided to create my own New Year’s BTT and time-release it…
So, here’s my question for everyone!
What author have you never read that you hope to experience this year?
I’ve decided to choose Salman Rushdie. I’ve heard so many great things about his writing over the years that I think it’s time I experience him for myself. Can anyone recommend a particular title by him?
So, what about you?! What author are you resolved to read in 2009? Simply leave me a comment!

I love Rushdie, but a title to start with is difficult. If you want to dive right in, go with The Satanic Verses or Midnight’s Children. If you want an easier introduction, go with Enchantress of Florence.

I say if you only read one Salmon Rusdie novel it should be Midnight’s Children. It’s big, it can be difficult at times, but it is his masterwork.
Happy New Year.

Thank you, C.B.!! I appreciate the recommendation — I look forward to reading Rushdie finally… Happy New Year to you, too!
Thank you! I think I will jump in with Midnight’s Children…!
